The special thing about the Port wines of Quinta do Infantado is that they are predominantly less sweet than the Port of other brands. This gives them more power in the flavor, which is not muddled by the sweetness. The Port wines of Quinta do Infantado have therefore the flavor description medium-dry.
The Vintage Port wines of Quinta do Infantado are distinctive in their ‘meio-seco’ (semi-dry) style. The Roseira family is very careful when declaring a Vintage year and will not do so if there is the slightest doubt about the concentration and quality of the vintage. The year 2004 is an excellent year for Vintage Port, with good concentration and excellent structure and balance.
The rich, grape-like aromas are beautiful in this full-bodied, very sweet young Vintage Port, which is delicious and juicy, with plenty of plum jam and big, velvety tannins.
pitch black color, opaque. Sweet lilacs, herbaceous, some blueberries mixed with sage on the nose. Sweet, fruity entry, full of white berries and blackberries supported by some astringent green tannins. Silky texture. Dry spicy finish full of black wine gum.
