Fonseca’s 1992 Vintage Port comes from a truly outstanding Quinta, producing excellent port and a high concentration of tannins. 1992 is a really great year. Fonseca’s 1992 is hugely structured with layer upon layer of full, creamy flavors. A great vintage to enjoy for a long time.
On the palate: Opaque, purple / ink black colour. Fresh berry aromas. Lovely, fragrant smells. Intense, dark chocolate flavours. A big, voluptuous, full-bodied, layered, textural mouthful. Long intense finish.
Storage: Bottles should lie horizontally, in a cool dark place. Matures slowly, develops and refines in the bottle for decades.
Serve: Decant and serve between 16 and 18ºC, in a suitable glass. Walnuts are an excellent complement to Vintage Port, as are various cheeses such as Stilton and Dorset Blue Vinny. So are dried fruits such as apricots or figs. Or just enjoy the unadulterated taste in a good glass with good company.

Fonseca’s 1992 is a majestic port that defies the house’s great efforts (1985, 1977, 1970, 1963). This colossal Vintage shows an almost opaque black/purple color and an explosive nose of black fruit, licorice, chocolate and spice. This multi-layered, hugely endowed port has a full and unctuous texture and reveals a finish that lasts longer than a minute. It is a beautiful port that can still mature for 30 to 40 years.
The best Fonseca since the perfect year of 1977. Intense cassis, violet and plum aromas, powerful, medium sweet and bursting with fruit and tannins, a wine of great mass and concentration.

A surprisingly youthful wine that exudes power and rich, juicy fruit, there is still a tannic structure and tremendous fruit, a concentrated wine that promises many years of aging.
Aged dark fruit gives way to the comforting taste of brown sugar and nuts. But it is the texture of this wine that is truly spectacular, thick but so lithe and caressing. It has nice blackberry syrup and woodsy notes. Incredible strength and balance. Good for another thirty years. Soft, nutty and dark fruit. An incredible port. Thick long finish. Complex.
